Pelosi is now clearly on record supporting government censorship of our free speech rights. She also insinuated that The Broadcaster Freedom Act wouldn’t see the light of day, and added there is strong, support for a revival of the “Fairness Doctrine.”

Yes, ever more people are moving into the area. But the officials in charge of allowing new electric infrastructure to be set in place are refusing to grant permission to lay down the miles of new high-voltage electric lines the increasing demand requires.

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi and Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the majority leader, appear intent on holding the line against calls to approve drilling in areas now off limits. They mount the counterargument that the oil and gas industry is not aggressively exploring large expanses it has already leased on land and offshore. They also have urged Bush to pour some fuel from national reserves into the commercial supply chain in an effort to lower prices.
