Now it is coming to light that — to save money — ACORN bosses have been telling paid employees to work for them as volunteers, instead, and earn their pay by collecting unemployment insurance. This, as blogger Michael McCray notes, would be a form of fraud.

Barack Obama’s incessant call for sacrifice by US citizens is an affront to the Constitution. Free individuals are not a resource to be called upon to serve at the behest of the President for the government’s grand designs. Instead, it is the government, which has been instituted for the explicit purpose of serving the needs of its citizens in protecting their rights. By elevating the purpose and value of “government” or “society” above that of the the citizen, Obama perverts the fundamental principle of the Constitution, substituting collectivism in place of individualism.

You would think with all these millionaires walking around the company, there would be at least a passing acknowledgement of the wealth generation potential of a free economy. Not a chance. CEO Jamie Dimon sneers at free market advocates. The firm funds a variety of anti-business activists, ACORN being just the most dramatic example.

Fellow countrymen and women; I would turn your attention to the highlighted parcel in the above segment. I would submit that neither of these two proposed bills, health reform and climate change legislation, conforms to the will of the people at all. Have we not seen the latest polls and the vast numbers of our fellow countrymen at Tea Parties and town hall meetings from sea to shining sea? Were there not nearly TWO MILLION of our fellow countrymen who utterly shut down Washington D.C. to stop the tyranny and despotism reflected by such Constitutionally heinous and contemptuous legislation?

Sheriff Arpaio is specifically looking for evidence that ACORN financially supported a Mexican national who claims that he was abusively treated by the sheriff’s enforcement efforts. The case Melendres v. Arpaio claims that the sheriff’s office racially profiled the victim.

“I believe the organization used state and federal funds meant to help poor people to conduct a campaign against me and my officers,” said Arpaio in a statement. “These records will show, I believe, that ACORN is in bed with the anti-immigration enforcement organizations, which continue to demonstrate in front of my office trying to thwart my officers from enforcing state and federal law.”
