The day after White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s Clintonesque plan to triangulate and divide Republicans and doctors failed a major newspaper published this headline: “Democrats Lose Big Test Vote on Health Legislation.” The title was so fair and balanced many media obsessed White House advisers could have attributed it to Fox News. Yet, it was the New York Times that captured in a well-written, fair and subtle story the depth of the challenge the White House faces in its push to enact major health care reform legislation.

As the Times reported, “[Majority Leader Reid] needed 60 votes to proceed. He won only 47. And he could not blame Republicans. A dozen Democrats and one independent crossed party lines and voted with Republicans …”

The first lesson for the White House in this defeat is that public concern about the deficit is real, not manufactured. Twelve Democrats opposed the Emanuel strategy not just on principle but sound political judgment. Senate Democrats understand that voters, by a two to one margin, want Congress to address the deficit first, then health care. They knew that the effort to spend a quarter of a trillion dollar outside of the reform process was shameless and fiscally irresponsible. As Ron Wyden (D-WA), one of the “no” votes, said in the Times article, “On the eve of a historic debate on health care, it’s essential to show a commitment to real reform,” which includes fiscal responsibility.

The Washington Post – not Fox News – went farther and blasted the Emanuel/Reid triangulation strategy, calling it “nonsensical” and “sleight of hand.” As the Post wrote: “The political imperative is twofold: to make certain that Republicans don’t use the physician payment issue to bring down the larger bill and to placate the American Medical Association … A president who says that he is serious about dealing with the dire fiscal picture cannot credibly begin by charging this one to the national credit card, with no concern for the later generations who will have to pay the bill.”

The nation’s doctors also understood the strategy and weren’t impressed by Emanuel and Reid’s plan to manipulate them into backing off of their support for tort reform. A poll on Sermo.com – a Facebook-like site which represents 110,000 real world physicians who sacrifice their own time to participate in a serious public debate about health care (in contrast to the American Medical Association, which represents itself and its Washington lobbying shop) included troubling results for the Democrats negotiating in secret. Sixty-five percent of nearly 1,000 respondents said they were “very concerned” about the Senate passing a fix for their own profession that was not offset, and 77 percent said they were “very unsatisfied” or “unsatisfied” with the substance of the so-called fix.

If the first lesson is to get serious about the deficit, the second lesson for the White House is to go back to first principles and conduct this effort with more maturity and less partisanship.

When Barack Obama launched his campaign in 2007 he said, “… it’s not the magnitude of our problems that concerns me the most. It’s the smallness of our politics … We have to change our politics, and come together around our common interests and concerns as Americans.”

Why then, on the eve of the most important domestic policy debate in a generation, are the President’s advisers talking about Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News? Is this really a common interest and concern among Americans? Would the average voter consider this form of politics to be big or small?

By spending time on juvenile and crass partisan strategies the President’s advisers triangulated the wrong target – their own allies. Their tone and tactics united Republicans (all 40 voted against the doctor fix) and caused 12 key allies to fall away.

The Barack Obama I know and worked with in the Senate (through his initiation) is capable of so much more. America needs that Barack Obama to change the tone and go back to attacking problems rather than personalities.

If he does, he’ll find plenty of friends ready to work with him – old and new. Every Republican wants to enact comprehensive health care reform that lowers costs, improves quality and increases choice. No matter how often our motives are questioned we will be ready to discuss plans like the Patients’ Choice Act, which I’m sponsoring with Senator Burr (R-NC) and Representatives Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Devin Nunes (R-CA), that cover more people than the Democrat plans without pushing our economy off a cliff.

Yes, elections have consequences. The White House certainly has the right to continue its clever partisan strategy. Yet, history shows this process will succeed only if it is truly bipartisan. The doctor fix debate showed that partisanship is the far riskier road.

How is our U.S. economy going to survive Social Security and Medicare, $90 Trillion Dollars in UNFUNDED Liabilities, over the infinite horizon, just for these TWO programs alone? ? ?   How are we going to afford another Ponzi scheme like NATIONALIZED “free” Healthcare?

Somehow I think only a zombie under the Hoodoo and Voodoo of Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi could live with anymore “free stuff” from the U.S. Government.  How are we citizens going to afford all of the “free stuff” like Social Security and Medicare and all manner of other free stuff like “Cash for Clunkers” when the bill comes due in a year or two?  What are we citizens going to do when they take the costs for all of this “Free Stuff” out of our paychecks next year in the form of Federal Withholding to the tune of 80% or more of our earnings?  Then we will all be Zombie Socialists with nowhere to run.

We told you about efforts to jam a cap-and-trade energy tax through the Senate using reconciliation, a trick to avoid proper debate and the normal 60 vote requirement for important legislation, and you sprung into action, generating a flood of calls and emails to the Senate and IT WORKED.  WE WON that fight and kept cap-and-trade out of reconciliation. 

Last week, Sen. Johanns introduced a budget amendment to prohibit the use of reconciliation for cap-and-trade, and it passed on a solid 67-31 vote. Every Republican supported the amendment, as did 26 Democrats.  Before the Johanns amendment passed, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid indicated he wanted to do both cap-and-trade and health care under reconciliation, saying that cap-and-trade revenues would be “exactly how much we need for the first phase of health care reform.” 

Unfortunately, THERE IS NO TIME TO CELEBRATE, because now Democrats are poised to pull the reconciliation trick for their plan to NATIONALIZE AND RATION HEALTH CARE.

There are a few senators that are going to be very influential in this fight.  If you know anyone in the following states please forward this email to them:  Arkansas, Indiana, Montana, Nevada and North Dakota.  We need your help to get the word out!

While the Senate passed a budget resolution without reconciliation language, the House budget specifically includes a section authorizing the use of reconciliation for a national health care plan.  This is despite the fact that reconciliation is only relevant in the Senate, where it can short-circuit debate and pass legislation with only 50 votes instead of the regular 60.

This is a TRICK to let Senate Democrats claim they passed a budget without reconciliation, only to have it slipped back in during conference committee, when the House and Senate budgets are combined.

The dean of the Senate, Sen. Robert C. Byrd, Democrat from West Virginia, has made it crystal clear that this is not what reconciliation is for, saying, “I was one of the authors of the legislation that created the budget ‘reconciliation’ process in 1974, and I am certain that putting health-care reform and climate change legislation on a freight train through Congress is an outrage that must be resisted.”

The stakes are enormous.  Two big steps toward government-run health care are already in place with the national health information database and the comparative effectiveness research that were hidden in the stimulus plan.  We are now only a few steps away from establishing a national health board that will RATION CARE based on the results of comparative effectiveness research, and a coverage mandate designed to, over time, shift more and more people into a government-run and government-controlled health care plan.

Moving health care nationalization through reconciliation will SILENCE moderate Democrats and Republicans and produce the most aggressive, big-government health care plan possible.  Any government plan to restructure one sixth of our economy deserves to be debated fully under the regular rules of the Senate.

People from all over the country are starting to realize that our economy is a sham.  OUR ECONOMY is nothing more than “The Matrix” like in the movie.  The Matrix was created by the OWNERS of THE FEDERAL RESERVE “SYSTEM”.  Our fellow countrymen and women are starting to erupt in protest and Tea Parties all over America:

The Matrix, Our ECONOMY that only exists in our minds created from printed out of thin air monopoly money, used to control and manipulate us, our earnings, our property and our very freedom, is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work… when you go to church… when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

What truth?

I understand “exactly” what you mean.  Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. Income Taxes are not even constitutionally legal.  You can find all sorts of information on the illegalities of Income Taxes on this blog.  Imagine how much money you would have and how much money would be in our economy if the U.S. Government was FORCED by us to OBEY the Law. 

And, to add poverty to misery upon us, the Congress and Obama are working extremely hard to raise the price of gasoline, heating, lighting and electricity so that we can’t afford it.  They are not allowing our oil companies to explore and drill for oil in the VAST fields in the west like in Utah or even in our surrounding Oceans.  Is that absolutely insane or what?  How long are you going to take this?  They are working to bring the price of gasoline to over $4.00 per gallon and heating / electric bills to over $1000.00 per month so that you cannot afford to live.  The tyrants and oppressors of Washington D.C. in Congress and the Executive branch are not allowing our oil companies to procure the leases they need to drill!   In ADDITION to causing energy prices to go up by drying up DOMESTIC oil and natural gas production, which would make it so that we do not have to import from other countries, they are working on a bill RIGHT NOW, to place huge taxes, called “Cap and Trade”, ON TOP OF the increased prices they are causing on us.  THIS IS A MADHOUSE! ! ! @!

We can rebuild our economy to be as good as or even better than it was with REAL MONEY and in a true real life economy without monopoly money or the control and manipulations of a humongous private company like we have in The Federal Reserve today.  We can rebuild our nation in Freedom and Liberty which means We The People control our Government and not the other way around.  A country as we once had where WE COMPEL our Government to obey the LAWS that We did ordain and establish in The Constitution, which is a set of laws and ENUMERATED POWERS on THEM, not on us!

The time has come to tell the usurpers and despots to GO TO HELL!  They are not going to take 80% of our earnings away from us common working men and women in the form of withholding and payroll taxes!  They are not going to force us to go broke and march us to huge 1 & 2 bedroom apartment complexes to “put a roof over our heads and feed us” or to minimize “our carbon footprint”.

A message to The U.S. Congress, Obama and The Owners of THE FEDERAL RESERVE “SYSTEM” and The Trilateral Commission from Capt. Karl:   I know you’re out there. I can feel you now. I know that you’re afraid… you’re afraid of us. You’re afraid of change. A change back to TRUE freedom FOR US as ordered upon you by us through the Constitution of which you are to OBEY word for word, to the very spirit and intent  AS IT WAS MEANT before all the legalize spin and gyrations of activist Communist/ Socialist / Facist Federal judges.   I don’t know the future. Seeing as how the first effigy of Senator Harry Reid was strung up last Independence Day at the Menominee Memorial Park in the U.P. of Michigan, which is right by the Menominee Marina, perhaps we here in the twin cities of Marinette / Menominee ought to take advantage of our area and have a few yachts setup for a mock Boston Tea Party just offshore of the Marina.

I know we have a designated Liberty Tree nearby for those who would like to tar and feather or hang an effigy of their least favorate Congressmen and women.  Bring patriotic signs and Gadsden flags to display from our Menomoninee, MI  Liberty Tree for the event.  All taxpayers are invited.  Everybody to dress up as a patriot or an Indian.

WASHINGTON – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he wants to take up a bill to tackle global warming by the end of the summer.

The Nevada Democrat told The Associated Press in an interview late Thursday that the Senate in the next few weeks will move to pass an energy bill focusing on several of President Barack Obama’s priorities, but then ” hopefully late this summer do the global warming part of it.”

There is widespread agreement that the climate change issue must be addressed. But there remains sharp disagreement on just how to do it.

Many Republicans argue that the Democrats’ plan to cap the greenhouse gases blamed for global warming may be too expensive and produce higher energy costs. Democratic congressional leaders maintain that costs can be contained and that failure to act soon could have even more severe economic consequences.

Reid says he is convinced that many senators want to move on the issue this year.

“We have to take a whack at it,” he said.

Reid, who is up for re-election next year, has assumed a high profile on the need to promote “clean energy” sources such as wind, solar and biomass that do not produce carbon dioxide, the predominant greenhouse gas. These are also energy projects popular in Reid’s home state, where several major solar projects are under way or planned.

Next week, Reid will participate in a “clean energy” forum being convened by the Center for American

Reid earlier this week said that he expected Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, to produce an energy package within two weeks that will be ready for floor action. Among other things, Bingaman’s bill would require utilities to produce 4 percent of their electricity from renewable energy sources by 2011, increasing to 20 percent over the following decade, according to a draft of the legislation.  OH  MY  GOD ! ! ! !  Do you guys remember what happened to California?  The land of forcing all manner of Global Warming B.S. down the throats of their citizens in the form of “requirements”?  They are now over $42 BILLION DOLLARS in debt.  They have refused to send out tax refunds to millions of people expecting them.  They are talking of raising all sorts of taxes.  And, people are leaving California by the droves!  Don’t fall for this people, study, read and learn about the sham of Global Warming for yourselves.  The whole thing is B.S.!  I have spent months researching all of this.  You can find all sorts of science articles on The Liberty Tree Lantern so that these damn tyrants don’t screw with your minds, for the sake of controlling and manipulating us.  Much of our financial disaster has been caused by the false “beguilement” of Global Warming.  Our economy can’t take anymore of it before total collapse.

Reid said he favors a 20 percent renewable standard for utilities, but added, “we’ll get by with what we can.”

Many states already have requirements for utilities to use renewable energy, but attempts in Congress to establish a national requirement have fallen short repeatedly because of regional divisions. Lawmakers from the Southeast particularly have argued that utilities in their area would be hard pressed to meet a federal requirement because they lack wind or solar energy resources.

Reid said he also favors some additional tax incentives aimed at spurring energy efficiency, especially for construction of more energy efficient buildings.

“We’ve got to give people incentives to build better buildings and also do something about the buildings that are there right now,” said Reid.

But Reid said he doesn’t expect the Senate to tackle the issue of offshore oil drilling again.

While Congress last fall ended a drilling moratorium that covered 85 percent of the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf, Reid said he’s convinced that Obama’s Interior Department will protect those areas where drilling shouldn’t be allowed.

“I don’t think we need to do anything legislatively,” he said.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar recently scrapped a Bush administration blueprint for offshore energy development through 2015 and said he was developing a new plan, keeping in mind that some areas are not suitable for drilling and putting greater emphasis on developing wind and wave energy projects offshore.

Do you folks have any idea how much more you are going to have to pay for energy if Dingy Harry gets his way?  Did you enjoy $4.00/ gallon gasoline, massive increases in the cost of heat and light and huge increased costs in groceries?  This is what is on tap if you don’t stop the Senate Majority Tyrant!

Have you seen the price of a barrel of crude go up about $4.00 today.  I was wondering how the price of oil could go up that much.  I figured it had something to do with B.O. and or his Interior Secretary of despotism and creator of massively higher cost of living expenses comrade Ken Salazar.  How could this bastard stop our oil companies from producing our own cheap domestic oil supplies?  That S.O.B.! ! ! !

If we don’t start doing something to force these oppressors to let our oil companies produce our energy supplies we are really headed for trouble when we already have so many people out of work and our economy failing.  Don’t you see what these people are doing to us?  When are we going to rise up and tell these bastards where to stick it?  When are we going to tell our public “SERVANTS’ to get the hell out of our way?  When are we going to tell them to DRILL  BABY,,,  DRILL!

How long are we going to let these bastards destroy our financial lives, especially when there are so many scientists that state that we are going into another ice age?  And NASA satilites indicate a downward temperature trend over almost ten years?  I sure haven’t seen any global warming lately?  Have you?  We’ve had a lot of below zero days here in Wisconsin and plenty of snow.

Excuse me, I need to go out to my garage and hold onto my pitchfork, again, for awhile.  I’m getting those forward twitching compulsions in my arms again.  Perhaps another rope and a box of ammo, too!

Senate Majority Leader, Senator for Nevada Harry Reid (D-NV) stated publicly that Income Taxes are voluntary.  And, because of the fact that it is “VOLUNTARY” the U.S. Government, in it’s porkulus bill, to be paid out of our earnings as withheld from our future paychecks, taking our earnings and giving it to “WELFARE” recipients, it is not supposedly forcefully taking money from one group of people and giving it to another.

See, ol’Capt. Karl was right.  You do not have to file or pay your income taxes.  But if you see an (IRS) Agent of “The Matrix” with a dark suit and dark sunglasses run like hell!

Here is Senator Harry Reid telling you that Income Taxes are “VOLUNTARY”:

Voluntary, WOW!  Who would have known?  Now we know why so many of the people in Congress are Democrats.  I’m glad they finally let us in on their dirty little secret!

Let’s all take it from the Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid; “Income Taxes are VOLUNTARY!”

Senator Harry Reid, Majority Leader, isn’t a liar, when he speaks for a publicly broadcast interview, is he?  Is Harry Reid a liar?      OR,,, is he a damn liar?

Do we have a damn LIAR as the head of our U.S. Senate?  Or, does he tell the truth?

Should we believe this guy and choose not to pay our “VOLUNTARY’ Income Taxes, OR is HARRY REID a Damn LIAR?

Which is it, we don’t have to “volunteer” to file or pay Income Taxes, OR is SENATOR HARRY REID A damn liar?  What if we don’t comply?  Is Harry Reid going to stop the IRS Agents from coming to get us, if we choose not to file our Income Taxes or pay them?  OR, is HARRY REID a DAMN liar?

How many Senators are liars like Harry Reid, or is it true that Income Taxes are “VOLUNTARY”?  How many Congressmen are Liars?  How many in the entire U.S. Government are LIARS? Is the IRS Commissioner a liar too?

How come the publicly available Grace Commission report to President Reagan states that not a penny of Income Taxes goes to the U.S. Treasury?  How come the Grace Commission Report states that all Income Taxes goes “directly” from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to a private company called The Federal Reserve?  Why does the U.S. Government imply that the privately owned, by forty people, company called The Federal Reserve is a Government entity when it is a private company?  Is the U.S. Government made up of LIARS?  Does the U.S. Government steal money from our earnings and our economy and give it to a private company called The IRS?  Did they tell you that this is where your Income Tax money and our money from our economy is going?

What kind of a person (idiot) would believe a person like Senator Harry Reid or a Government that would lead you to believe that our income taxes go to the U.S. Treasury?

What kind of person (idiot) would let their own Government take their “Income Tax” out of their earnings in the form of “withholding” and give it to a humongous private big banker corporation that is mostly owned by foreigners?

But then, of course, we can trust our Congressmen who “write” our Internal Revenue Service Tax Code, right?  Of course we taxpayers can trust them, obviously!  Take Charlie Rangel for instance:

Democrat Congressman Charles Rangel, chairman of the powerful committee that writes the nation’s tax code, failed to pay an unspecified amount in federal taxes during the past five years on rental income from a villa he owns in the Dominican Republic, according to several news stories. Representative Charles B. Rangel is head of the House tax-writing committee.

Mr. Rangel, a Harlem Democrat who is chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, has owned the beachfront house at the Punta Cana resort and club since 1988, but never declared the $75,000 in rental income he has earned either on his tax returns or on his Congressional financial disclosure form.

You see good old boy Charlie Rangel, a Democrat just like “Honest Harry”, knows that Income Taxes are “VOLUNTARY”.  See Charlie tells the truth through his actions as do so many Democrats such as our Secretary of The Treasury himself Tim Geithner, President of The New York Federal Reserve Bank.  These people are of the highest integraty honest highly knowledgable people who understand the Tax Code inside and out.  These guys are the geniuses who take our earnings away from us and spend them on whatever they think best, like big bank bailouts so that they can get a free ride on our dime to the Caribbean: Congressman Charlie Rangel Takes “Junket” to Caribbean on Bailout.       Isn’t that special?

Have you taken your bailout “Junket” to the Caribbean lately?  Might as well, it’s going to be on your dime as soon as they start taking out of your paycheck.  Where the hell do you think all of our Congressmen and Senators are getting all these TRILLIONS of Dollars from?   Perhaps you don’t believe this ol’Capt. that they, ”The Matrix” (IRS) Agents are coming to take your earnings away from you and give it to others, in the form of welfare?  Perhaps you think they that created “The Matrix” (most of you call it our “economy”, but in reallity it only exists as programmed into our minds), The Federal Reserve “SYSTEM”, can keep printing “wealth” out of thin air?  Perhaps you are one of those that prays to “your” God the U.S. Government and The Federal Reserve System to save you with stimulus money.  If so, you are a fool!  You need to get down on your knees and pray that God forgives you for thinking that you can get “free stuff” from Socialism.  You, sir, are an idiot!  You are the enablers of “The Matrix”, the U.S. Government and The Federal Reserve company that controls them and programs our minds with all sorts of B.S.!

knows that Income Taxes are “VOLUNTARY” as you can see.  Isn’t it wonderful to know that both houses of our Congress and the man at the head of our Treasury Department, who is ultimately in charge of the IRS (Matrix) Agents are so honest and of sublime integrity?

I sure appreciate knowing from our honest and loyal Congressmen that our Income Taxes are “VOLUNTARY”.  Arent’ you happy too?  Aren’t they special?  Yeh, it is so nice to know that we and our earnings are in good hands such as Harry Reid, Tim Geithner, Charlie Rangel and all of the other wonderful honest individuals in both houses of Congress.  Aren’t they special? 

What kind of person (idiot) would stand there with their mouth open and say; “Well I can’t do anything about the Government stealing my money anyway.  What am I suppose to do about it?”  What kind of total nincompoop would be so stupid as to say or even believe something so dumb as that?  Is that where the saying; “A fool and his money are soon parted” comes from?

Speaker of The House - Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Usurper of Constitutional Freedom and Our Earnings; Destroyer of our economy.

GLENN: Representative John Culberson of Texas claims the stimulus bill must be urgently voted on today because speaker Nancy Pelosi is leaving at 6:00 p.m. for an eight-day trip to Europe.No way. Get him on the phone. Get Culberson on the phone. Pelosi is hoping to lead a delegation to Europe. There she is with the Pope getting an award from an Italian legislative group. Calls to Pelosi went unreturned. Democrats have now broken their promise to have the public see the proposed bill for 48 hours before any vote. I believe, um, this is obscene. I believe Obama said that five days, that he would make things public before they would be turned into law.Senator Frank Lautenberg, democrat from New Jersey, predicted that none of his Senate colleagues would have a chance to read the final version of the bill before it comes up for the final vote. Here it is, 1,071 pages. None of his Senate colleagues would have the chance. This is obscene. There is no emergency that is so important that we pass this without reading it. There is absolutely no excuse! You know what? You call up your congressman, you call up your senators today.I swear to you, you might want to vote for it, you can wait. Nancy Pelosi can wait. You can wait until you’ve had a chance to read the damn thing! Who in their right mind would do this in business? Who in their right mind would do this with your own home? Damn it, it is our country!Who are these alien life forms? How fast do they have to read it? If they’re going to vote today, they have to read 640 words per minute. Now, I’m going to show you, I’m going to read a page of the stimulus package and I’m going to show you how I would have to read it. Now, I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I’m guessing there are some people a little less bright than me in congress. This is the way that I would do it. I would assemble my team, stu, we would have what, I would have my, you know, my aides around me, I guess. I got Joe, who is one of the smartest legal guys, so you can speak legalese.

GLENN: Only doing 150 words. Here we go. And I’m supposed to read 640 words per minute to be able to read this whole thing and get to the vote and have read it.

STU: And so Nancy Pelosi can catch her plane.

Go. 37, watershed rehabilitation program, for an additional amount for watershed rehabilitation program, let’s just assume I’m a regular person and I don’t know what the watershed rehabilitation, can you find out what the watershed rehabilitation program is please? $50 million, have to count the zeros, for necessary expenses to carry out rehabilitation of structural measures. What does that mean, Joe? Necessary expenses to carry out rehabilitation of structural measures? Buildings and stuff?

JOE: That could be dams, bridges, any structure.

GLENN: Provided that section 1106 of this act shall not apply to this appropriation. Can you find out what section 1106 says?

JOE: And at this time, the congressman or senators are getting an aide to go get that section because they don’t know either.

GLENN: Okay. Provided further that priority in the use of such funds shall be given such projects. [Buzzer]

STU: That’s one minute.

GLENN: Provided further that the priority in the use of such funds shall be given to such projects that can be fully funded and completed with the funds appropriated in this act. So in other words, as long as it can be completed with the money that is in here, that project gets a priority. Right? Okay. And to activities that commence promptly following the enactments. Or if you can at least start it right away, correct?

STU: Or both.

GLENN: Okay. Rural development programs, rural community advancement program, including transfers of funds. For an additional amount of gross obligations for the principal amount of direct and guaranteed loans as authorized by sections 306 and 310-B, and described in sections 381 ED-1, 381 ED-2 and 381 ED-3. [Buzzer]

STU: That’s two minutes.

GLENN: Of the consolidated, hang on, I don’t even know, for an additional amount of gross obligations. So in other words, what is obligations? Understand how that word’s being used. For an additional amount of gross obligations. Are they saying for an additional amount of money not in this act.

JOE: Right, if you can start the project and finish the project with the moneys allocated, that’s fine, but there will still be long-term costs that are not operational costs.

GLENN: Okay, I see. Gross obligations for the amount of principal and direct guaranteed loans as authorized, find out what’s in 306, 310, 381 ED-1, 2, and 3, of the consolidated farm and rural development act, what the hell is that? To be able from the rural community advancement program as follows, $5,838,000,000, zero, zero, zero.

STU: Right. And conveniently timed. [Buzzer] That’s 3 minutes. Again, you didn’t resolve any of the questions that you have.

GLENN: No, I just have questions.

STU: You just have questions like what are these act that we’re spending $5 billion on. You have not allocated in your mind whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, you at least know you have to check them. That’s not how you actually need to read the bill because you need to get the answers, check them, and come back and say, yes, this is good or this is bad.

George Washington would call us enemies of the state. He would. Here was the indispensable man, here was a man full of honor, here was a man who stepped down. Here was a man who said no. It’s Mr. President. They wanted to make him king. Whose liberty are you just throwing around? Whose liberty are you just treating with such disregard? Mine, yours, our children’s. These guys have a sacred responsibility to protect us. To protect the constitution of the United States. They can’t even read it fast enough! The largest bill ever? The last huge stimulus bill was how much? This is, this dwarfs everything. We have found so many things in it at the last minute, all of a sudden, health care, universal health care, where we’re telling our seniors that there are some things you’re just going to have to get used to, universal health care czars are tucked into this thing? We’ve got, what was it, 20 or $30 million for the salt marsh mouse in Nancy Pelosi’s district? How dare you? How can you sleep at night! Some of us, some us actually care about our country. And I will not hear, I will not accept any, no more, I will not accept hearing anyone say how dare you tell me I don’t love my country. You can vote for this bill and love your country. but you can’t vote for this bill if you haven’t read the damn bill and love your country! You love your party over country. And I’m tired of it. I am tired of the republicans, I am tired of the democrats. George Washington told us that these two parties, he was against the two-party system. He said it would be the death of us. You got to get yourself away from these parties. That’s not me. That’s George Washington. Well, now we see how far ahead of his time he was. We don’t need a third party. We need Americans that may disagree, that vote for the stimulus package and against the stimulus package, but agree that they need to read the damn bill first. Boy!

STU: Don’t try and act like the founders read the entire Declaration of Independence before they signed it.

GLENN: These people put their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor, these people in Washington, some of these people don’t even have sacred honor, wouldn’t recognize it if it came up and slapped them across the face. And believe me, sacred honor would slap a lot of these clowns across the face. Their lives? They would never put their lives on the line for this constitution, they’d never put their — you’re going to put your life, you are signing this bill, you might as well be putting your life on the line for the country. You better know what the hell is in it. Because — the CBO says it’s going to make things worse. You might say it makes things better. Well, you better damn well know. Just the arrogance.

Stimulus 101: The Pelosi-Reid-Obama Debt Plan

With countless news stories, papers, editorials and experts giving their view of why Congress should or shouldn’t enact the Pelosi-Reid-Obama Debt Plan, we thought it would be helpful to give you a short index of why spending does not equal stimulus.

HIGH COST TO AMERICAN TAXPAYERS

• After Congress appropriates the FY’09 omnibus bill, they may have spent over $1.4 Trillion in less than one month!
  The current “stimulus bill” will be the LARGEST SPENDING BILL EVER enacted by Congress, making the New Deal look small, accounting for inflation.
• The “Stimulus” Bills Your Family – $825 Billion is equivalent to borrowing $10,520 from EVERY FAMILY IN AMERICA. This money has to be paid back.
• If all families were asked to equally shoulder the burden of $825 Billon, this debt would be equivalent to what they roughly spend on food, clothing, and health care in an entire year.
• If Government Spending solved recessions, we would never have recessions.

BAD IDEAS – “THE DEVIL IN DISGUISE”
The hidden liberal policy agenda inside the ‘stimulus bill’…

• Over $142 Billion in Federal education funds: Nearly double the total outlays for the Dept. of Education in 2007 – making good on Reid-Pelosi-Obama education promises to the NEA.
• $87 Billion Medicaid bailout: Medicaid is funded by a formula that matches state spending levels with federal dollars. If we keep bailing states out, they will have every incentive to continue irresponsible spending. Fiscally responsible taxpayers in Indiana are now paying for fiscally irresponsible bureaucrats in Illinois.
• Expanded Medicaid coverage and SCHIP: Reid-Pelosi-Obama are enacting a nationalized health care policy with no debate. The government will soon be responsible for more health care spending than the private sector, i.e. socialized medicine.
• Green Jobs?: The myth of ‘green jobs’ merely means replacing one job lost, with a new job that fits the left’s agenda. It is a zero sum game. More than doubling spending, the stimulus also has over $35 billion for the Dept. of Energy. DOE’s current budget is $23.8 billion.
• Family Planning and birth control for children, immigrants and the wealthy, which could also be used as a backdoor to allow federal funding of abortions. How is this stimulus?  **UPDATE: Nancy Pelosi agrees this is not stimulus and has removed it from the bill proving these measures are allergic to sunshine.**
• Redistribution: Refundable Tax Credits for people who don’t pay taxes.
• Pork Spending: Digital TV Coupons ($650 Million), Gov’t Cars ($600 Million), Nat’l Endowment for the Arts ($50 Million), Repairs to National Mall ($200 Million, including $21m for sod).

BAD RESULTS

• No Jobs: While they have not been able to support these claims, Pelosi/Obama promise between 3 & 4 million jobs, yet House Tax Committee staff can’t estimate even ONE job will be created.
• Ineffective: The Congressional Budget Office estimates that only 52% of the spending in the ‘stimulus bill’ can even be spent by the end of FY’10.  Well short of the 75% benchmark set by President Obama.

BETTER IDEAS AND RESULTS

1. Make the 2001 and 2003 Tax Cuts permanent, instead of raising taxes in 2011; Reduce Marginal Tax Rates for  Individuals and Businesses by 10% creating new jobs. Adopting just this one proposal would create between 500,000 and 1 million jobs in one year.
2. Repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax & reduce the Death Tax to 15% ($5 mil. individual exclusion) Enact long-term reforms and budgets for entitlement spending., putting long-term obligations from Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, front and center in the budget process.
3. Assess and enforce long term spending rules in Congress. Get us out of debt!
4. Go to Heritage.org for more ideas and ways to avoid giving Americans a debt they didn’t create.

Below is from a report from Larry Kudlow on CNBC PowerLunch today:

Ø  Open ended package

Ø  Only 5% of the spending in the bill is actually going for bridges and other highways.

Ø  Only 12 cents of every Dollar of the package is being spent on things that can be considered stimulus.

Ø  250 Billion is spent on pure Socialist Programs and Transfer payments

Ø  There is little to no incentive spending to grow businesses inspire the hiring of additional employees and purchasing of plant and equipment.

Ø  It is going to take years for the little bit of stimulus there is in the package to reach the economy.

 So our enemy, The U.S. Government, is going to steal our future earnings, in Federal withholding and payroll taxes, directly out of our paychecks, for this!

God help us!
