			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Newt Gingrich wrote a very well written news letter concerned about our freedom and Constitution entitled &#8220;Turing the Senate into the Chicago City Council&#8221;.  He wrote:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px"><span style="color: #008000">&#8220;Using the budget reconciliation process to pass health reform and climate change legislation…would violate the intent and spirit of the budget process, and do serious injury to the constitutional role of the Senate.&#8221;</span></p>
<p>Further into the letter he wrote: </p>
<h3 style="padding-left: 30px"><span style="color: #008000">The Founders Relied on the Senate to Carefully<br />
Consider Before They Commit Us to a New Law</span></h3>
<p style="padding-left: 30px"><span style="color: #008000">One of the key means by which the Senate slows down the legislative process is through the filibuster.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px"><span style="color: #008000">Unlike in the House, in the Senate, even a small group of senators can hold up a bill by threatening to continuously debate it.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px"><span style="color: #008000">It takes the votes of three-fifths of the Senate, or 60 senators, to end a filibuster. This means that it effectively takes 60 votes to pass a controversial piece of legislation or nomination.</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px"><span style="color: #008000">And again, this is for good reason. <strong><span style="color: #ff0000">The Founders looked to the House to more directly reflect the will of the people.</span></strong> They relied on the Senate to take a step back and carefully consider a bill before they commit the American people and our resources to it.</span></p>
<p>Fellow countrymen and women;  I would turn your attention to the red highlighted parcel in the above segment.  I would submit that neither of these two proposed bills, health reform and climate change legislation, conforms to the will of the people at all.  Have we not seen the latest polls and the vast numbers of our fellow countrymen at Tea Parties and town hall meetings from sea to shining sea?  Were there not nearly TWO MILLION of our fellow countrymen who utterly shut down Washington D.C. to stop the tyranny and despotism reflected by such Constitutionally heinous and contemptuous legislation?</p>
<p>I submit these observations of usurpation, repeated injury and Congressional and Administrative treason to a candid world and request that my fellow countrymen from across our fruited plain from the lands of the brave formulate plans to restore liberty and Constitutional authorities to We The People who first received them from our creator.  <strong>For is it not true, my fellow countrymen:</strong></p>
<p>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. — <strong>Such has been the patient sufferance of these United but independent and sovereign States; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former members of Government to better anchor and ENFORCE our systems of Governance to the rule of law as We The People wrote, established and ordained in The Constitution upon our Government, in its entirety word for word to the full spirit and intent as it was meant by our founding fathers on the day it was ratified.  Especially, but not limited to:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li><strong>The apportionment clauses with regards to taxation in Article 1 Section 2, contempt of  which through the oppression, intimidation and coersion of the IRS has resulted in unadulterated slavery, tyranny and oppression through taxation ultimately resulting in the U.S. Government using our own earnings against us and the loss our liberty of choice of how to spend our own earnings from our labor. </strong><strong> </strong></li>
<li><strong>The enumerated powers clauses of Article 1 Section 8 along with their supporting 9<sup>th</sup> and 10<sup>th</sup> Amendments in The Bill of Rights presenting law upon our Government where we the people borrowed <span style="text-decoration: underline">some</span> of our authority, given to us by our creator, for the ‘privilege’ of the Government to handle ONLY the enumerated SEVENTEEN items we therein listed, for our convenience and to form a more perfect union of independent sovereign States.</strong></li>
<li><strong>We The People understand that multitudes of constitutionally contemptuous legislation over nearly the past ten decades will have to be completely rescinded and we understand that our U.S. Government, being compelled to conform to the rule of law will result in the utter collapse of 4/5ths of the scope, size and spending levels currently being conducted through corruption and usurpation in full out condescension of Constitutional law.  For We The People of the United independent and sovereign States of America love and cherish liberty and the animated contest of freedom and the pursuit of happiness, under God, rather than the security and tranquility of servitude under tyrants. </strong></li>
</ol>
<p><strong>The history of the current President, both Houses of Congress and constitutionally contemptuous activist Supreme Court justices is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.</strong></p>
<p>Only weeks after the signing of the Declaration of Independence Samuel Adams presented the following in his <strong>Speech at the State House, Philadelphia, August 1, 1776:</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say &#8216;what should be the reward of such sacrifices?&#8217; Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom &#8211; go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!&#8221;</p>
<p>Did all our soldier patriots and original Revolutionary War patriots and Veterans in the Continentals and the Militias of ordinary common folk farmers, blacksmiths and businessmen who fought through all the years so that we could be individually free and prosporous as we used to be, before the nearly ten decades of incremental tyranny by our U.S. Government, fight in vain?  Are we the people going to let the oppressive tyrannical despots in Congress and the President just dismantle our freedom, liberty, earnings and personal property piece by piece by piece?  Do you understand the debt that our U.S. Congress and several Administrations have placed onto us as a result of numerous unconstitutional bills that they passed? </p>
<p>Below I have a hotlink to the debt clock.  Click on it and take a look at the debt that ALL of us are going to have to pay for one way or the other.  And, I can assure you one thing, there  is going to be hell to pay for several years starting in the very near future, less than three years &#8211; perhaps only one,  of the collapse of &#8220;The Matrix&#8221; (our &#8220;perceived&#8221; economy, based on Monopoly Money printed out of thin air, as the result of the revalution to the true value of the dollar otherwise called hyper-inflation). </p>
<p>Hopefully we will soon, before the collapse of &#8220;The Matrix&#8221; would be nice, have the courage to COMPLETELY replace every single member of the U.S. Government <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">at every single level</span></strong> starting at the very top and working down to ACORN (they get 100s of millions of taxpayer money, to OVER two hundred affiliates with different names, for all manner of corruption, voter fraud and mayhem) and the SEIU street sweepers.     ALL twenty million of them or however many of them there are, HAVE TO GO!  The Federal Government only has the authority to do SEVENTEEN things ONLY.  All other powers and responsibilities are to be left to the sovereign and independent States or the people per the 9<sup>th</sup> and 10<sup>th</sup> Amendments.  PERIOD ! ! ! ! ! !</p>
<p>Fellow patriots, I submit, that all of the treasonous despots in our Government, who took the Oath to protect and defend our Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic, from both parties, should be given fair trial in a Court of Constitutionally knowledgeable Americans and most importantly such jurists shall be word for word exacting to the spirit and intent as it WAS meant on the day it was ratified, loyal and rock solid ‘AMERICAN’ jurists.  Those members of the entirety of the U.S. Government at all levels found guilty should be fully and swiftly prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  Traitors to our Constitution shall be swiftly, within three days of judgment, be given such justice as written in OUR law.</p>
<p>And, I further submit, that from now on all of us are AMERICANS…!   Anybody who permanently resides in this county as a citizen, if they don’t cherish being an AMERICAN, melting and fully and <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">completely</span> assimilating</strong> into our American heritage, AMERICAN Culture, American beliefs, AMERICAN traditions, speaking English and fully comprehending the concepts of the book The <strong>Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States (1864) </strong>that provides a perspicuous insight as to what is an “AMERICAN”, what makes up his or her character and is the very <span style="text-decoration: underline">core foundation</span> of our <strong>AMERICAN CULTURE</strong> that provided and was the seed and fertilizer for what “used to be” our country’s greatness and resulted in <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">individual</span></strong> power and prosperity for the VAST majority of individual common working Americans, the envy of the world and ultimately resulted in a <a href="http://captkarl.blogivists.com/2009/08/19/the-light-of-the-liberty-tree-lantern-guided-by-these-principles/">5000 Year Leap</a> in human advancement and technology, then they should be “more” than free to leave.</p>
<p>Within three years the <a href="http://www.usdebtclock.org/">U.S. Debt Clock</a> will stop.  Why, because by that time we will ALL have to pay the price for the usurpations of our public servants of almost Ten decades of corruption and usurpation by our U.S. Government leading to a “green” hybrid of Socialism, Communism and Fascism.  Our economy, <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">within</span></strong> three years from now (could be sooner as it almost did in the last quarter of 2008), will stop due to massively incomprehensible hyper-inflation and all sorts of economic realities as the result of printing wealth out of thin air, as we spit in the face of God (for who needs God if we can print all the money and wealth we want from glorified computer printers at The Fed?). </p>
<p>If we would have the fortitude to take care of our responsibilities as a free people to do what we sooner or later must for freedom, liberty and self-preservation, more sooner than later, we sure would be far better off than waiting for the collapse of “The Matrix” which you will know is VERY NEAR when our economy, in a few months time from NOW, is going gang busters, the stock market is near or above its highs and millions of people are back to work, some making more money than ever before, just like the months preceding BLACK FRIDAY 1929.  <strong>Only this BLACK FRIDAY will be FAR WORSE.  </strong>Windows above the tenth floor will be all the rage when people are caught by surprise in the loss of everything they &#8216;think&#8217; they own in &#8220;The MATRIX&#8221; almost overnight on the future Black Friday soon to come, just when everything looks so rosy.  And then Barack Obama will give us the <a href="http://captkarl.blogivists.com/2009/09/16/one-world-order-to-come-after-economic-boom-leads-to-black-friday/">&#8220;Final Ultimatum&#8221;.</a></p>
<p>The good news is that once we have individually learned our much deserved lessons we will enforce our laws that we wrote in the Constitution on our Government and then, over time, perhaps about 5 years after the Re-Revolutionary war and/or the collapse of “The Matrix” if we are wise enough to take our country back by sheer volume and critical mass of people, we will be well on the way to be more INDIVIDUALLY wealthy than ever before.  But we MUST realize that until “The Matrix” (our economy based on little more than Monopoly Money) has completely collapsed and we rebuild it based on ‘real’ money – assets / resources created by God and the labor and sweat of man, without any damned central bank, in the environment of freedom and liberty and the <a href="http://captkarl.blogivists.com/2009/08/19/the-light-of-the-liberty-tree-lantern-guided-by-these-principles/">28 Freedom Principles</a> we will be little more than slaves to the despots and oppressors in the U.S. Government and The Federal Reserve “System” that controls them.  I believe that ACORN and SEIU are just convenient pawns of the Federal Reserve and their exclusive international <a href="http://www.trilateral.org/">Trilateral Commission</a> club they founded via David Rockefeller (of Chase Manhattan Bank (Federal Reserve) / Rockefeller family) and Zbigniew Brzezinski, of megalomaniacal green &#8220;hybrid&#8221; Socialist, Communist, Fascist maniacs who use Mass Behavior Modification (brainwashing) through the &#8220;perception&#8221; of Global Warming and Climate Change as a &#8220;convenient&#8221; excuse to formulate and execute their diabolical plans resulting in We The People bowing down before them without a fight.  Yes, as Gor(e)y as it is, it sure WAS &#8220;CONVENIENT&#8221;" <span style="text-decoration: underline">wasn&#8217;t</span> it.  But now, by the grace of God, our countrymen are waking up from their stupor that the programmers of &#8220;The MATRIX&#8221; have placed into our minds.  The RED pill <img style="width: 400px;height: 300px;cursor: default" src="http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f283/phyrcat/matrix_neo_in_morpheus_glasses.jpg" alt="matrix_neo_in_morpheus_glasses.jpg image by phyrcat" />is the right choice if you prefer individual liberty and prosperity over slavery and tyranny.</p>

And, of course, if he is not, what does it mean to the 2008 election or the U.S. Constitution if it is revealed that there has been a violation? </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">&#8220;Every passing day Mr. Obama takes executive action that significantly impacts on the lives of Americans. The USA and Obama have already been granted one extension to answer to May 5, 2009. They have therefore been given 77 days to answer,&#8221; he said. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">&#8220;This is enough time for them to answer. With an extension to June 21, 2009, USA and Obama are asking for 124 days and the Congressional defendants are asking for 117 days to answer. Court rules only allow them 60 days. Such delay is not in the national interest and not acceptable,&#8221; he said. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">He told WND that since the attorneys for the government earlier were granted extensions for Obama and Congress to respond, there should be no further delay, and the statements should be required May 5 as planned.</span></p>

The complaint was filed by Gary Kreep of the <a href="http://www.usjf.net/"><span style="color: #000033">United States Justice Foundation</span></a> in early November, but it didn&#8217;t get court action until March, months after the actual election that it challenged. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">That case now is on appeal. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">The case being handled by Apuzzo was launched in New Jersey and focuses on the alleged failure in Congress to follow the Constitution. </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">&#8220;Congress is the elected representative of the American people and the people speak and act through them,&#8221; the lawsuit said. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">The defendants &#8220;violated&#8221; the 20th Amendment by failing to assure that Obama meets the eligibility requirements,&#8221; the lawsuit said. </span></p>

This is under Title 3, Chapter 1, Section 15, &#8216;Upon such reading of any such certificate of paper, the president of the Senate shall call for objections, if any,&#8217;&#8221; he wrote. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">Several of the various disputes around the nation have been brought to the U.S. Supreme Court on emergency motions because of the gravity of the contentions, but none yet has been given an actual hearing. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">A state official, Hawaiian Health Director Chiyome Fukino, said, &#8220;I, and Dr. Alvin Onaka have personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama&#8217;s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.&#8221; But officials have rejected requests for access, saying Obama would have to authorize any access, and left ambiguous its origin: Does the certificate on file with the Department of Health indicate a Hawaii birth or was it generated after the Obama family registered a Kenyan birth in Hawaii?</span></p>

At one point a Kenyan ambassador said Obama&#8217;s birth place in Kenya already was recognized and honored. </span></p>

<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;,&quot;serif&amp;quot">Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming Obama&#8217;s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court <a href="http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&amp;pageId=83041"><span style="color: #000033">but denied a full hearing.</span></a></span></li>

<p>President Obama&#8217;s budget chief hinted Wednesday that the president&#8217;s signature campaign issue &#8212; a middle-class tax cut &#8212; will not likely survive a budget battle with Democrats on Capitol Hill.</p>
<p>On a conference call with reporters in advance of the president&#8217;s trip to the Hill to speak before the Senate Democratic caucus, Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag indicated that, while 98 percent of the budget mark-ups in the House and Senate are on par with the administration&#8217;s budget blueprint, some campaign trail promises, like middle-class tax cuts, may get left on the cutting room floor.  <span style="color: #0000ff"><em> &#8211; - You weren&#8217;t really expecting this were you?  &#8211; - Capt. <p>The administration had tied the revenue raised from its environmental &#8220;cap-and-trade&#8221; proposal to the middle-class tax cuts &#8212; known as the &#8220;Making Work Pay&#8221; tax credit for families &#8212; both of which have been brought up as possibilities to be scrapped from the Senate and House budget resolution.   <span style="color: #0000ff"><em>- -  Well Ah Duh!   &#8211; - Capt. Karl</em></span></p>
<p>Obama&#8217;s middle-class tax cut is locked in place for the next two years as part of the stimulus package he signed into law last month, but Orszag told reporters today that the White House will have to use those two years to figure out how to keep that tax cut in place for middle-class families beyond 2010.   <span style="color: #0000ff">- &#8211; <span style="color: #0000ff">If you would allow this humble ol&#8217;Capt., may I offer you some advise; &#8220;Don&#8217;t hold your breath, mates!&#8221;  In fact I would suggest you can expect that the average working man can expect a HUGE massive increase in Federal Withholding, Payroll, FICA (Social Security) and Medicare taxes.  I suggest that <span style="color: #800000"><span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>in less than three years</strong></span> </span>your taxes will be at least 50% of your earnings.  Shortly after which it will increase to 80%.  See numerous articles on this subject matter within The Liberty Tree Lantern blog.</span></span></p>
<p>Obama took his budget campaign to the Hill today to discuss his <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=7166984" target="external">$3.6 trillion budget face to face</a> with some skeptical Democrats, a day after he <a href="http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=7159971&amp;page=1" target="external">addressed the nation in a prime-time news conference</a>.</p>

<p><span style="font-family:"><span style="font-size: small">For starters — and this will shock you — <strong><span style="font-family:">both the House and the Senate programs have a loophole that even gives illegal aliens cash payouts.</span></strong> </span></span></p>

<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small"><span style="font-family:">$75 million to fund anti-smoking programs. </span></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small"><span style="font-family:">$650 million for the switch from analog television to digital. </span></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small"><strong><span style="font-family:">$335 million to help prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.</span></strong><span style="font-family:"> </span></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small"><span style="font-family:">$600 million for “climate change” research programs. </span></span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-family:"><span style="font-size: small">This is just a small part of the long laundry list of trivial, weird, and simply outrageous programs being funded in the Obama stimulus bill, which goes on for 680 pages — so long no one in the House was believed to have read it before voting for it! </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"><span style="font-size: small">Just to show you the tremendous waste, there is so much money appropriated in this bill <strong><span style="font-family:">you could give every unemployed person in the nation a check for $75,000 for the amount being spent. </span></strong></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"><span style="font-size: small"><strong></strong></span></span></p>

<div><span style="font-family:"><span style="font-size: small"><span style="font-family:"><span style="font-family:">Frankly that would be a better way to dispense the funds than what Obama wants to do. </span></span></span></span></div>
<p><span style="font-family:"><span style="font-size: small"><span style="font-family:"><span style="font-family:">He and his Democratic allies are simply wasting hundreds of billions of our money in <span style="font-family:"><strong>a clear “payoff” to Democratic Party interest groups and unions that backed him and the Democrats in Congress during the last election.</strong></span> </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:">The truth is that Obama and Congress could have created economic stimulus by across-the-board tax cuts for all Americans, and tax incentives for businesses to hire new workers and use their capital for new purchases — instead hundreds of billions of dollars are going to bolster federal and state welfare programs. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:"><strong>Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay put it best when he said Obama’s program is “just complete, out-and-out writing of checks to people that don’t pay taxes. These are welfare checks that are called tax cuts.” </strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family:">Scary? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;font-family:">You better believe it. The Democrats are making Freddy Krueger look like a reasonable fellow. </span></p>

<p><strong>NEW YORK —  Trillions in stock market value — gone. Trillions in retirement savings — gone. A huge chunk of the money you paid for your house, the money you&#8217;re saving for college, the money your boss needs to make payroll — gone, gone, gone.</strong></p>
<p>Whether you&#8217;re a stock broker or Joe Six-pack, if you have a 401(k), a mutual fund or a college savings plan, tumbling stock markets and sagging home prices mean you&#8217;ve lost a whole lot of the money that was right there on your account statements just a few months ago.</p>
<p>But if you no longer have that money, who does? The fat cats on Wall Street? Some oil baron in <a class="iAs" href="http://captkarl.blogivists.com/wp-admin/#" target="_blank">Saudi Arabia</a>? The government of China?</p>
<p>Or is it just — gone?</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re looking to track down your missing money — figure out who has it now, maybe ask to have it back — you might be disappointed to learn that is was never really money in the first place.</p>
<p>Robert Shiller, an economist at Yale, puts it bluntly: The notion that you lose a pile of money whenever the stock market tanks is a &#8220;fallacy.&#8221; He says the price of a stock has never been the same thing as money — it&#8217;s simply the &#8220;best guess&#8221; of what the stock is worth.</p>
<p><!-- QUIGO --><!-- QUIGO --></p>
<div class="quigo quigo1">&#8220;It&#8217;s in people&#8217;s minds,&#8221; Shiller explains. &#8220;We&#8217;re just recording a measure of what people think the stock market is worth. What the people who are willing to trade today — who are very, very few people — are actually trading at. So we&#8217;re just extrapolating that and thinking, well, maybe that&#8217;s what everyone thinks it&#8217;s worth.&#8221;</div>
<p>Shiller uses the example of an appraiser who values a house at $350,000, a week after saying it was worth $400,000.</p>
<p>&#8220;In a sense, $50,000 just disappeared when he said that,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But it&#8217;s all in the mind.&#8221;</p>
<p>Though something, of course, is disappearing as markets and real estate values tumble. Even if a share of stock you own isn&#8217;t a wad of bills in your wallet, even if the value of your home isn&#8217;t something you can redeem at will, surely you can lose potential money — that is, the money that would be yours to spend if you sold your house or emptied out your mutual funds right now.</p>
<p>And if you&#8217;re a few months away from retirement, or hoping to sell your house and buy a smaller one to help pay for your kid&#8217;s college <a class="iAs" href="http://captkarl.blogivists.com/wp-admin/#" target="_blank">tuition</a>, this &#8220;potential money&#8221; is something you&#8217;re counting on to get by. For people who need cash and need it now, this is as real as money gets, whether or not it meets the technical definition of the word.</p>
<p>Still, you run into trouble when you think of that potential money as being the same thing as the cash in your purse or your checking account.</p>
<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s a big mistake,&#8221; says Dale Jorgenson, an economics professor at Harvard.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s a key distinction here: While the money in your pocket is unlikely to just vanish into thin air, the money you could have had, if only you&#8217;d sold your house or drained your stock-heavy mutual funds a year ago, most certainly can.</p>
<p>&#8220;You can&#8217;t enjoy the benefits of your 401(k) if it&#8217;s disappeared,&#8221; Jorgenson explains. &#8220;If you had it all in financial stocks and they&#8217;ve all gone down by 80 percent — sorry! That is a permanent loss because those folks aren&#8217;t coming back. We&#8217;re gonna have a huge shrinkage in the financial sector.&#8221;</p>
<p>There was a time when nobody had to wonder what happened to the money they used to have. Until paper money was developed in <a class="iAs" href="http://captkarl.blogivists.com/wp-admin/#" target="_blank">China</a> around the ninth century, money was something solid that had actual value — like a gold coin that was worth whatever that amount of gold was worth, according to Douglas Mudd, curator of the American Numismatic Association&#8217;s Money Museum in Denver.</p>
<p>Back then, if the money you once had was suddenly gone, there was a simple reason — you spent it, someone stole it, you dropped it in a field somewhere, or maybe a tornado or some other disaster struck wherever you last put it down.</p>
<p>But these days, a lot of things that have monetary value can&#8217;t be held in your hand.</p>
<p>If you choose, you can pour most of your money into stocks and track their value in real time on a computer screen, confident that you&#8217;ll get good money for them when you decide to sell. And you won&#8217;t be alone — staring at millions of computer screens are other investors who share your confidence that the value of their portfolios will hold up.</p>
<p>But that collective confidence, Jorgenson says, is gone. And when confidence is drained out of a financial system, a lot of investors will decide to sell at any price, and a big chunk of that money you thought your investments were worth simply goes away.</p>
<p>If you once thought your investment portfolio was as good as a suitcase full of twenties, you might suddenly suspect that it&#8217;s not.</p>
<p>In the process, of course, you&#8217;re losing wealth. But does that mean someone else must be gaining it? Does the world have some fixed amount of wealth that shifts between people, nations and institutions with the ebb and flow of the economy?</p>
<p>Jorgenson says no — the amount of wealth in the world &#8220;simply decreases in a situation like this.&#8221; And he cautions against assuming that your investment losses mean a gain for someone else — like wealthy stock speculators who try to make money by betting that the market will drop.</p>
<p>&#8220;Those folks in general have been losing their shirts at a prodigious rate,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They took a big risk and now they&#8217;re suffering from the consequences.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Of course, they had a great life, as long as it lasted.&#8221;</p>

Barack Obama wants them badly. What stands in his way? For Obama, the problem is not so much the Reverend Jeremiah Wright as it is the issue of abortion — consistently the dominant political-social issue in the eyes of conservative Christians, from evangelical Protestants to devout Catholics. Obama’s abortion problem is a reality that has become especially evident in recent weeks, most notably in his public battle with Focus on the Family’s James Dobson.But it’s more specific than that. Obama’s problem is not the run-of-the-mill, over-the-top abortion stridency that has come to define the modern Democratic party’s presidential nominee, from Bill Clinton to John Kerry, but specifically his abominable position on the matter of newborn babies who survive abortions.This subject is beginning to receive publicity even in the mainstream press, as was evident in a recent exchange on CNN between Bill Bennett and Donna Brazile, but we doubt that even the most well-informed observers know the full story. First, some background:In 2002, Congress passed the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA). BAIPA is simple: It establishes that if an abortion is attempted on a fetus and the fetus survives — alas, magically morphing into a “baby” — everything medically possible must be done to save the child. Plainly, if a fetus takes a breath of air outside the womb, personhood has been established, and all persons in America must receive medical care from trained professionals on the scene. Americans are not to be denied emergency medical care.Such legislation was necessary because of the countless number of times in which babies who survived abortions were not offered medical treatment after <em><span style="font-family: Verdana">Roe</span></em> v.<em><span style="font-family: Verdana"> Wade</span></em> became the law of the land in 1973. Unknown numbers of these babies — unknown to the would-be mothers, to the medical community, to the general public — were left instead to die alone in a room, typically abandoned to a cold, hard, metal table, or in a trash can, behind closed doors, slowly gasping for air until they perished. Chalk it up as yet another glorious consequence of a woman’s “right to choose.” This China-like human-rights atrocity went on in America for three decades. Mercifully, at long last, Congress finally did something about it by introducing BAIPA in 2002.In the early stages, the bill was opposed by NARAL and extremist pro-choice groups, but objections ceased as a vote on the bill approached, most likely in anticipation of the public outcry. Yes, even the abortion industry can occasionally smell a bad p.r. move. The bill passed overwhelming in the House, by a margin of 380-15, and unanimously in the Senate, where even the most fanatical abortion-rights advocates — from Barbara Boxer to Hillary Clinton — were on board. The bill was signed into law by President Bush on August 5, 2002. In attendance was Gianna Jessen, who in 1977 had survived a saline abortion attempt.</span></p>

The bill had been called up in the Senate Judiciary Committee — twice, in March 2001 and March 2002. Obama was a member of that committee. He first voted “present” on the bill and then later cast a “no” vote. It was there that he argued with Stanek’s testimony.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">But that was nothing compared to the more decisive obstruction Obama provided as chair of the Health and Human Services Committee in March 2003, once the Democrats took control of the Illinois Senate. From that perch, Obama prevented the bill from being called up for a vote. In fact, he even refused to allow Stanek to testify orally, though he could not refuse to accept her written testimony. No doubt, Obama must have considered Stanek too persuasive to be permitted to speak.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">Flying the flag for the “right to choose,” Obama, as committee chair, ensured that babies who survived abortions in Illinois would not receive emergency medical care, and thus would die. As Obama obstructed, time ticked away, with abortion survivors getting no protection from the state of Illinois and those “medical” providers who swore a Hippocratic Oath.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">The gist of much of this has been reported, minus a few details. But what has been neglected is the crucial rest-of-the-story: As evidence of how Barack Obama did not simply oppose this legislation but was its primary if not sole hurdle, consider what happened to the Illinois legislation once Obama left the statehouse: It sailed right through.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">In 2004, the people of Illinois elected Barack Obama to the U.S. Senate. This was wonderful news for abortion survivors in the state of Illinois — literally lifesaving. The act was reintroduced in 2005 and passed the Illinois House 116-0 and the Illinois Senate 52-0. Passage of the bill was more unanimous than even BAIPA in the U.S. Congress. Among the members of the Health and Human Services Committee that Obama had previously chaired, none voted against the bill in 2005.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">Barack Obama had been totally alone in the Illinois legislature. His lone corner of support in the entire state was the small island of fanatics who make their living literally by killing unborn babies. It is no exaggeration to say that these people, and Barack Obama in solidarity with them, make supporters of partial-birth abortion look compassionate by comparison.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">It should be added that Obama had been commended for his obstruction by the president of the Illinois Planned Parenthood Council, Pam Sutherland, who averred, “The legislation was written to ban abortion, plain and simple. Senator Obama saw the legislation, when he was there, for what it was.”</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">That, of course, is nonsense. This assertion was a classic red herring by the abortion industry. As obvious proof, abortion has not been banned anywhere in Illinois or nationwide with the passage of these laws protecting infants who survive abortions. Hillary Clinton understood that, as did Barbara Boxer, Ted Kennedy, and all of Obama’s current pro-choice colleagues in the U.S. Senate. Why couldn’t Barack Obama figure it out? Such poor decision-making, tragic misjudgment, or outright zealotry, is an important consideration for this frontrunner to become our next president — a man whose platform is about the future, change, and hope.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">Democrats, who pride themselves on their alleged compassion, get angry and offended when their party is called the party of death. With Obama at the helm, they will do nothing to change the label. Quite the contrary, with Barack Obama as their voice, they are truly the party that has trashed the little guy.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color: #00ffff"><span style="font-size: small"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><span style="color: #000000">Well I guess the U.S. Government, Congress and THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM banker / owners (all forty of them) who controls and owns the U.S. Government and us American citizens need a few more assets paid for by stealing even more money in “withholding” from our paychecks.  Sure the idea that the Democrats in Congress have is great.  Yeah, they, BIG GOVERNMENT, already charges us over 15% profit on a gallon of gasoline, far more if you include your State tax, while the “big oil” Companies only charge 4 – 8% in profit per gallon.  That is half or less of what the BIG GOVERNMENT take is.  Never mind that the shareholders of “big oil” are the general American public, you know, We The (peon) People who have pension programs, 401ks, and general investments in “big oil” so we can actually retire with some money we can count on.  </span></span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><span style="color: #000000">Sure Social Security and Medicare (ALONE) are only in the hole by $90,000,000,000,000.00 DOLLARS, in UNFUNDED liabilities, over the infinite horizon, as reported by The Washington Times.  (I wonder where that money is going to come from.  Are any of you able to take a stab at where the money for that $90 TRILLION, is going to come from?  Any guess at all?  </span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color: #00ffff"><span style="font-size: small"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><span style="color: #000000">Sure, good idea, let’s let the U.S. Government “Directly” control our oil and gas supply!  I trust BIG Government that they won’t ration out gasoline and diesel to who “they think” deserves it.  Don’t you?  You trust them that if you are not paying “your fair share” of taxes that they won’t shut off your heat and light, don’t you?  No, they would never do anything like that to you, would they?  Heck they don’t raid your business and homes with guns and SWAT teams if you don’t pay “your fair share” of income taxes now do they?  Sure, we can all trust BIG GOVERNMENT.   They won’t even demand more in taxes for the “services” they do for us in getting out the oil, will they?</span></span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">Among other things, the Democrats called for the government to own refineries so it could better control the flow of the oil supply.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">They also reasserted that the reason the Appropriations Committee markup (where the vote on the amendment to lift the ban) was cancelled so they could focus on preparing the supplemental Iraq spending bill for tomorrow.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11pt;color: #000000;font-family: Verdana">At an off-camera briefing, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said the same. And a senior Republican House Appropriations Committee aide adds that &#8220;there were multiple reasons for the postponement&#8221; including discussion on the supplemental. But the aide said there was the thought that Democrats may wish to avoid a debate today on energy amendments.</span></p>
