Supporters of a recent effort to recall the mayor of Akron, OH have found themselves now fighting for their right to have a recall process at all. It seems city politicians are so scared that they have put a charter amendment on the November 3 ballot aimed at killing the recall process altogether. If the amendment passes, citizens will need over six times the number of signatures currently required to trigger a recall.

From the left, the Center on Wisconsin Strategy published its annual report in late 2008 with this unhappy summary:
“The national economy has grown more rapidly than Wisconsin’s, leaving the state’s per capita income more than $2,500 behind the national [average].”
From the center, the non-partisan Competitive Wisconsin group reached a similar conclusion in its 2008 benchmark report: “Wisconsin has moved further away from the national average in per capita income, number of new jobs created and number of new private businesses.”

A question we need to ask anybody who says; “This is recall Doyle campaign is stupid and a waste of time and money. Wait for the election, it’s only a year + away.” It has to be getting obvious for anybody who has any minimal electrical current traveling through their synopsis that HOW THE HELL CAN WE wait for a year? Look at the financial devastation to our ENTIRE STATE of Wisconsin! Now even Mercury Marine is considering leaving from Fond du Lac, WI ! ! How many more companies have to go before the idiots in the media cease the INSANE blackout of our RECALL of DOYLE? Don’t they care about the people of Wisconsin at all? Don’t they think that the people ought to have the right to know that we can do something about DOYLE NOW?

Thursday morning June 11th a group called Wisconsin Interests Now (WIN) had a number of enthusiastic www.RecallDoyle.com protesters near the Obama Town Hall meeting at Southwest High School in Green Bay, WI. The group was large enough to post people with large bright red “Taxed Enough Yet? www.RecallDoyle.com” signs in both the east and west bound lanes for over two blocks on W. Mason Street just west of Packerland Dr.

In February of this year, Governor Doyle introduced a budget that spends $63.1 billion, raises taxes and fees $3.2 billion, and increases spending by 7.7 percent over the previous biennial budget. Since that time state revenues have dropped sharply and an additional $1.6 billion was added to the $5.7 billion budget deficit. With jobs continuing to be lost in our current recession state revenues continue to fall adding to our already huge deficit.

Over 50 people packed the American Legion hall in Manitowoc to hear how they could initiate what would be only the third recall of a sitting US Governor in American history.

Now originally I was a little skeptical. Yes we don’t like him, but can we recall him because he’s raising every tax and fee in town? Orville from CRG makes a compelling argument: Elections are for hiring, and Recalls are for firing.
